This Might Be A Sensitive Topic, But - Diocese of Scranton's Reponse to Sex Scandals	Permalink

I read this in yesterday's Sunday Times... July 13, 2008 Article, Diocese of Scranton ...and I found it to be very disturbing. The notion that an organization can be responsible for auditing itself and then claim that it is in full compliance with something as serious as policies designed to protect children (when that same organization FAILED to fully protect children in the past) should send chills down the collective spines of Catholics throughout the area. It's not too difficult to couple this with the closing of Catholic Schools in the area and get a picture of an organization that believes that it is accountable to no one. I say this as a Catholic, a product of Catholic education and as a the former President of the Catholic Student's group in college.
