RE: "ScrantonPoliticalDiscussionBoard" -- Ag I deleted the forum here and moved all the posts! Chuckie Costanzo will have his biggest problem with the I.R.S. The unreported income will be his downfall. Bob Cordaro will also have that problem at a later date, after his trial for bribery and kickbacks.
Honestly Glenn I don't see the IRS as being his biggest problem. I do think that Mr. Costanzo will go to jail ... he was acquited of the extortion charges but plead guilty to filing false tax returns which is where he will have problems with the IRS ... but he has yet to be charged for stealing over $400,000 from the Workers' Compensation ... I think the IRS will more than likely be the least of this guys problems. He's going to go to jail, and from the sounds of the article in todays paper ... well I think that Mr. Codaro is going to have an ajoing suite ... but not at the playboy mansion ... if you know what I mean.

A year in prison...and thirty years paying back $300,000 in taxes, penalties, and interest. I know of people who served minimum sentences for theft and then got walloped by the I.R.S.
They never let you breathe. If you owe them a lot of money and don't have a six-figure job waiting for you, you're screwed.
Well actually you being a lawyer would know more about that than I would. I would think that this would merit more than 1 year in prison ... And hell I would want the IRS breathing down my neck for $100 so I can't imagine how this guy will fee ... not only that but I am sure that he will have to make restitution to the Workers' Comp. and pay back the money that he stole ... so this guy is going to be working to pay back ... won't be anything left for living ... hmmmm ... not going to be such a nice life for this guy.
I'm with Glen on this one...the IRS is like "The Borg" from Star Trek...they just keep coming and coming, and they never give up. The law is on their side. Most people would be shocked if they knew the rights that they don't have when it comes to the IRS (case in point: no creditor can seize qualified pension assets...but the IRS can).
This is an example of someone winning a battle but losing a war.
