$700 BILLION To Pay the Piper: Bush Bails Out Big Business

Article Here

And to think, years ago many in this country made fun of the French for their governmental intervention in the private sector & cried like little babies that the largest insurance company in Japan (and one of the largest in the world) was affiliated with the Japanese Postal Service.

What's this really about? It's about an economy that based on the assumption that ALL CONSUMPTION is good consumption & that the bills would never truly come due. Well guess what: the bill has arrived, and it's for $700 billion.

Angry? You're damn right I'm angry. The guilty will never pay here...they will simply enjoy their golden parachutes, take summer vacations in France, and sleep well knowing that they made their big bucks and Uncle Sam will gladly clean up the mess for them. This is the same crew that has been crying like little babies over the fact that CEOs need to certify as correct the financial statements they produce under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. All the good that one did.

When last I checked, thrift & living wihtin one's means were considered conservative values. I guess that's not the case any more.
